Chocolate Craving Mysteries Debunked

Chocolate candy bars can naturally contain chemicals that simulate everything from coffee to marijuana, which can be a good excuse as to why we crave it. It will always be a mystery that we are unable to abstain from it, yes? No. This research shows we are simply greedy.

From time to time feel, I feel like I will either have to eat chocolate or I will die. I always thought the universe conspired to make chocolate addictive.

It contains theobromine, a compound also abundant in coffee. It has some cannabinoids, guess where you can also find these substances?

And chocolate also contains phenylethylamine, the "love chemical," which men and women produce when they're romantically attached.

Who could resist this product of sorcery? That's the reason why chocolate can always blow one's hair back, right? No, not really!

We simply swear by the flavor of chocolate, sugar, and milk rolled into one. It's high time we admit to it.

A recently conducted experiment involved people experiencing chocolate cravings and provided them with different degrees of relief. Some got regular chocolate. Some got white chocolate - which is made with cocoa butter and doesn't have the chemicals in regular chocolate. Some got tiny pills that have all the chemicals found in a piece of chocolate. Some got nada.

Only one of the mentioned groups got satisfied cravings. There’s no way around it, of course they are the ones who were given chocolate. Coming in next in terms of satisfaction levels are those who got white chocolate. The ones who popped a pill were in no way satisfied. Those who were given nothing only gave the scientists resentful stares and refused to talk.

Let's chalk it up to the fact that our bodies are not chemistry connoisseurs. We simply like the taste of chocolate and the feeling of self-delusion it almost always brings.
