Chocolates Make Australian’s Most Trusted List

As sexist as it may sound, they say that behind every successful man is a strong woman. Similarly, as conceited as it may sound, behind every successful industry or business is a number of loyal consumers.

Admit it, no matter how good quality a product is, or how promising the offered services are, if you do not have people who patronize them then you have next to nothing.

It comes naturally that the performance of various industries be rated by the consumers themselves. In the recent survey conducted among Australian consumers, they came up with the list of the most trusted products and brands.

Based on experience, survey results should be coupled with a warning that such surveys are not always reliable and should not be taken too seriously. The  main reason for the caveat is that the results may not match the entire population.

Correct me if I am wrong, but these surveys are conducted to actually grab the attention of those people who experience the products and services first hand. They do not claim to represent everyone as a whole.  But I admit, even a few voices can make a huge noise.

The Australian Reader’s Digest released a survey that was conducted among 2,400 Aussies regarding which products they gave most of their trust.

Topping the list was the brand Dettol, followed by Band-Aid and Panadol. You can immediately conclude that health care products emerged the mightiest of them all.

But hold your horses, we chocolate aficionados need not fret because Cadbury, a favorite chocolate manufacturer, placed fourth!

And with fate playing its games, next to the infamous image of chocolates (sweets) causing dental problems, Colgate came in afterwards. A funny note there would tell you that people value their sweet tooth more than oral hygiene. But still that is just a rough guess.

Completing the list are Elastoplast, Bunnings, Lindt, Betadine, Uncle Toby’s, and Kellogg’s respectively.

A statement from the organizers said that "They have a long history of being steadfast and safe.” Learning the outcome of this conducted survey will give the companies a hint of what tickles the fancy of the market. So make up something that makes the consumers happy, and in return you will get to see your name on the next batch of trust list.
