Low Fat Chocolate Fondue Recipe

According to Everything Fondue, chocolate fondue was invented right here in America in the mid-20th century. Although it's difficult to determine who invented it first, anyone who has tried chocolate fondue can vouch that it's an excellent fondue tradition.

Chocolate fondue is one of the last communal dining experiences - one that everyone should try!

Fondue is so much fun with a crowd! If your crowd is sticking to their New Year's resolutions of healthier eating, this low fat chocolate fondue will delight both their minds and their palates.

Low Fat Chocolate Fondue

  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Few grains salt

Mix cornstarch and water in a small saucepan. When smooth, add remaining ingredients and stir over moderately high heat until mixture boils 1 minute. Pour into fondue pot to keep warm.

Suggested dippers: Marshmallows and graham crakers, as well as cut up fresh bananas, strawberries, and apples
