PASCHA – 55% Cacao With Goldenberries

Goldenberries (also known as Cape Gooseberries) are grown in warm climates like Peru, South Africa, and Hawaii.

They are most often sold in stores in the U.S. as dried fruit and are not easy to find fresh.

Goldenberries Are A Super Food

Goldenberries are considered a super-food because they are high in several important nutrients.

For example, one ounce of the berries contains 3 grams of fiber, about 45 percent of the daily intake recommendations for vitamin A, and a rich concentration of antioxidants including vitamin C and beta-carotene.

Goldenberries are fruits that grow on vines with heart-shaped leaves. The fresh fruit looks like a yellow cherry tomato, and when dried, looks like a golden raisin.

What About Goldenberries in Chocolate?

Pascha added goldenberries to their Peruvian organic dark chocolate. This particular bar, 55% Cacao With Goldenberries, uses whole, dried goldenberries while maintaining an allergen-free formula*.

The chocolate is spicy, nutty, and a little earthy, with vanilla and honey notes throughout.

The golden berries add a little sourness right at the beginning, but as you continue, the sweetness and the ripe fruity flavors blend in nicely with the chocolate.

The bars are available at Amazon. Here's a link to a 10-pack.
