Chocolate Bunnies: An Easter Tradition

It's no secret that chocolate is a crowd favorite, and if you're reading this blog, I'm sure you agree!

As spring comes around, and Easter gets closer, you might notice that chocolate bars are suddenly being replaced with chocolate bunnies. I'm sure this is something you have always accepted and never really questioned - but where did this strange tradition of chocolate Easter bunnies come from?

I know it is absolutely nowhere near Easter, but it just feels right to share this info on the spur of the moment. C’mon now, cut me some slack! 🙂

For starters, Easter is known as the most sacred Christian holiday of the year. Jesus Christ’s resurrection after his crucifixion is celebrated on Easter Day or Easter Sunday.

Did you know that ninety million chocolate Easter bunnies are produced each year? No child's Easter basket is ever complete without a chocolate Easter bunny or two. But how did Easter get mixed up with a rabbit? Where did that come in?

Record Breaking Chocolate

Chocolate is fun. It is fun to eat, it is fun to make. And apparently, it is fun to use to set Guinness Book World Records.

The Grand Candy factory, located in Yerevan, Armenian, qualified on September 11, 2010 as the new Guinness World Record holder of the world’s biggest chocolate bar.

The bar weighs 9,702 pounds – almost 5 tons! The chocolate bar is made of 70% cocoa mass, measures at 224 inches long, 110 inches wide and 10 inches thick.
