Whipped Cream Chocolate Frosting Recipe

The usual frosting types I stumble upon are too sweet for my taste. I'd rather choose a nice whipped cream chocolate frosting instead. Adding extra cocoa powder makes it even better, and suits my discriminating taste! This recipe will add an extra special topping to any dessert. It's simple, yet delectable!

This chocolate whipped cream is a wickedly yummy filling you can use for tarts, cake frosting, cream puffs, chocolate sandwich cookies, ice cream, sundaes, cream pies, or great big spoons! It’s seriously decadent. Whipping it up is not rocket science either, and very quick at that - especially if you have a mixer.

Whipped Cream Chocolate Frosting

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Mix (do not whip) all ingredients in a bowl. Set in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours. Then beat until mixture is so thick it holds its shape and will stand in peaks. This makes enough frosting for top, sides and between layers of a 3-layer cake, even when you use a generous hand.

Note: Put cake in refrigerator after frosting to allow to set. Store cake in refrigerator so frosting will not spoil.

Have at it! 🙂
