Extravagant Chocolate Easter Bunny Costs $49K

Has Easter gotten a bit boring to you? All those plastic eggs and pastel decorations year after year. Maybe what you need is something a bit more… extravagant? Not to worry, there’s a chocolate Easter bunny on the market especially for you! Impressive 1.70 carat round brilliant diamonds are used to create the eyes for this year’s most high-class Easter bunny.

World-renowned chocolatier, Martin Chiffers, in collaboration with 77 Diamonds in London, is behind the magnificent piece of art. They call it the “world’s most extravagant chocolate Easter bunny.” And, it features gold leaf painted eggs resting at its feet.

“I’m delighted to be working with 77 Diamonds on such a glamorous item which is certainly a culinary phenomenon," said Chiffers in a statement. "Whilst I am very accustomed to teaching about and creating extravagant luxury chocolate pieces, incorporating diamonds is a first!” Source: abcnews.com

The intricately carved rabbit weighs 11 pounds and stands almost 15 inches high. It is carved from a solid block of 72% Tanzanian chocolate, and is estimated to contain close to 550,000 calories! The process takes two days and the statues are made to order, including just a small price tag of $49,000.

The price may not seem so out of this world when you learn that the confection can be preserved for two years. So there you go, if timed correctly, you could get several Easter’s of enjoyment from this beautiful bunny.

The chocolate creation can be purchased only through British luxury retail site VeryFirstTo, which also offers versions with different colored diamonds, or less-expensive stones. In addition, a donation is made to The Prince’s Trust charity for every rabbit purchased. Founded in 1976 by Charles, Prince of Wales, the organization provides mentoring support and financial grants for disadvantaged youths.

It’s the latest outrageous stunt from VeryFirstTo, which has made a name for itself launching extravagant, jaw-dropping products and packages that border on the ridiculous. In previous years, they’ve brought us the world's most expensive gingerbread house, the most expensive Christmas pudding and even a Valentine’s Day dinner package prepared by a Michelin star chef that went for $99,300.

“VeryFirstTo regularly curates remarkable luxury never done before experiences and products,” said Marcel Knobil, founder of VeryFirstTo, London. “We wanted to create something truly exceptional for Easter.” Source: luxurydaily.com
