June 24, 2025
Craving something chocolatey, cold, and oh-so-satisfying? You don’t need to head to a fancy café to get your fix. With just a few ingredients and a little love, you can whip up a delicious iced chocolate drink right at home. Whether it’s a sunny afternoon or a treat to cool you down after dinner, this easy recipe will hit the spot.
Iced Chocolate Drink RecipeWhat you need:
What to do: Step 1: Melt the Chocolate In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, add your chopped chocolate and hot milk. Stir slowly until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. If you’re using a microwave, heat in short bursts (about 20 seconds), stirring in between. Step 2: Sweeten It (If Needed) Taste your chocolate mixture. If it needs a little more sweetness, stir in the sugar until dissolved. Step 3: Cool It Down a Bit Let the melted chocolate mixture sit for a couple of minutes. You don’t want to pour it straight onto ice or cold milk while it’s piping hot. Step 4: Build Your Drink Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in the melted chocolate mixture, then add the cold milk. Stir well until everything is combined and beautifully blended. Step 5: Top It Off (Totally Optional) Add a generous swirl of whipped cream, drizzle with chocolate sauce, or sprinkle on some chocolate curls if you’re feeling fancy. |
Tips for an Extra-Chocolatey Experience
- Use good-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Dark chocolate (around 60–70%) works great, but milk chocolate is lovely if you like it sweeter. Try one of these options from Amazon.
- Blend it for a smoother texture or turn it into a frozen treat with crushed ice.
- Add espresso for a quick mocha twist!
Sip and Savor
There’s nothing quite like sipping a chilled glass of iced chocolate made with real, melted chocolate. It’s rich without being heavy, sweet but not too much, and 100% comforting. Whether you’re cooling off on a hot day or just treating yourself, this homemade version is sure to become a favorite.
