How To Make Your Own Chocolate Bowls

Have you ever watched a video of someone making chocolate figures and thought... wow, that’s so cool? Well, we are going to try to make one today! Not exactly a chocolate figure though, but some chocolate bowls!

Chocolate bowls are great to impress your guests plus it’s also a yummy dessert. Add a couple of your favorite fruits inside to bring out different colors to the bowl, or fill them with any other dessert that you want. Either way, it will surely catch the attention of your guests!

Making chocolate bowls could be a creative activity for your children or family. It’s actually very easy to make! Here’s how…

You will need a good amount of your chosen chocolate. The amount will depend on how many bowls you want to make. You can also choose what type of chocolate to use, but I would suggest a good quality craft dark chocolate to compliment your fruits!

In addition, you will also need to prepare a few small plain air-filled balloons. These will be used to shape your bowls.

Then, melt your chocolate. You can use a microwave, a double broiler, or a saucepan on a low heat. When no more clumps are showing, let it cool until the chocolate is warm to touch. This is an important step since when hot melted chocolate is used, the balloons will pop. On the other hand, if you let it cool a lot longer, it will harden.

Transfer the warm melted chocolate in a bowl, then dip your balloons! The size of your chocolate bowls will depend on how high you dip your balloons. After you’ve dipped the balloons, set them aside to harden. Wait until the chocolate bowls are looking matte and hard. This should take a few hours, but you could put them in the fridge to make the process faster.

When you are sure your chocolates are ready, release the air from the balloons by slowly opening the knot at the top. Be careful not to pop the balloon to make sure the chocolate bowls will not break at the bottom.

And that’s it! Fill them with your favorite fruits and serve! This is such a cute and unique dessert to serve on your parties and family gatherings. Just be sure to not serve them outside in the heat or your chocolates will melt!
