Microwave Fudge

If you have a fancy for baking sweet treats but you don't have the luxury of time, you can always look for certain ways that you can still squeeze your creative juices out, sans spending a lot of time. Microwave can come in handy, too.

Did you know that chocolate accidentally paved way for the creation of the microwave oven? Scientists during the World War II were building devices called magnetrons for radar sets. One of them allegedly walked by a cavity magnetron while it was at work.  Then, he suddenly felt some heat and realized that the chocolate bar he had with him melted into a sticky mess.

Enough with the fun fact for the mind, now you can go ahead and whip up something to make your tummy happy!

Microwave Fudge

• 2 cups miniature marshmallows
• 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 dash salt
• 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 cup milk chocolate chips
• 1/2-1 cup nuts
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

In 2 quart glass measure, combine marshmallows, milk, and salt. Microcook on HIGH 3-4 minutes. Stir until marshmallows melt and mixture is smooth. Add chips and stir until melted. Stir in nuts and vanilla.

Line 8 or 9-inch square pan with wax paper. Spread fudge evenly in pan. Chill 2 hours, until firm. Turn on to cutting board, peel off paper and cut into squares.

Enjoy! 🙂
