White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie
October 2, 2013
In our books, the classic chocolate chip cookie remain unrivaled. However, the white chocolate macadamia nut definitely has its own unique charm. It still offers the chocolate we can’t do without, but comes with one of my favorite nuts.
This cookie recipe combines both white and brown sugar, and such mix is known to yield perfect chewy consistency. Suffice it to say, good quality white chocolate is needed. Never, ever, scrimp on this! The quality of the chocolate you use will make or break the cookie.
Chocolate Beer Sandwich, Anyone?
September 27, 2013
Europe introduces yet another innovation, a new sandwich spread with the flavors of chocolate and beer combined. This interesting creation is known as “Birra Spalmabile”. The inventors suggest that it would be best on toast or used as a cake filling. You might get to thinking “Why on earth would I want my child’s cake to taste like beer?”
Two Italian companies, brewery Alta Quota and chocolate maker Napoleone, the ones responsible for creating this masterpiece, say that it can also be eaten with cheese or other appetizers.
Gluten Free Chocolate Chili Cherry Cookies
September 25, 2013
It's always heartbreaking to bid goodbye to summer, but you need not weep. You can always relive the warm-weather with some recipes that make you feel warm and cozy, even on the inside.
These cookies are moist, rich, fudgy and filling, with a hint of spice. All these qualities are guaranteed to give you an explosion in the mouth. The secret ingredient to this is actually the Black Beans.
Just so you know, black beans are packed with fiber and protein. It’s not a very usual combination, mind you. A one-cup serving of black beans contains 14 grams of protein – the same amount as a 2 oz. serving of chicken or salmon.
Black beans do magic to the digestive tract and the skin of these beans is packed with high levels of phytonutrients. All these nutrients can work in your dessert, how awesome is that?!

NASA astronaut Karen Nyberg said in an interview that she can't wait for the arrival of a new cargo ship by the name of Cygnus, the first ever shipment by Orbital Sciences Corp. to the International Space Station.
"You know that there's something packed away in that vehicle, something special for you ... We're human beings and we get very excited about the packages from home and some of the treats that we might get," said Nyberg.
Vegan Chocolate Strawberry Muffins
September 18, 2013
These Chocolate Strawberry Muffins will undoubtedly steal the hearts of vegans and non-vegans alike. Chocolate and strawberries aren't a classic pairing for no reason.
These Chocolate Strawberry Muffins are loaded with two kinds of chocolate, unsweetened cocoa powder and semi-sweet chocolate chips. The final muffin has that squidgy, almost brownie-like texture.
However, the full cup of fresh strawberries is what makes this such an awesome recipe. The richness of chocolate, together with delicate pureed strawberries, explodes in the mouth. Due to all the fruit baked right into these goodies, they are super moist, sans any oil.
Vegan Chocolate Strawberry Muffins • 1 1/4 cups white whole wheat flour Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line muffin pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl combine pureed strawberries, mashed bananas, and applesauce. Mix in raw sugar, non-dairy milk, vanilla, and chocolate chips. Add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fill paper liners evenly. Bake for 18 to 24 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center of muffins comes out clean. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. |
Enjoy! 🙂
Discovery of a 350-year-old Iced Chocolate Recipe
September 13, 2013
A university lecturer has uncovered notes that suggested the way to make a 17th century counterpart of what many of us are crazy about in this day and age, the chilled coffee drink. Only, in this case, it's chocolate. It even came with health warnings about drinking too much of the brown confection.
Dr. Kate Loveman, an English lecturer at the University of Leicester, claimed that the recipe instructed the maker to mix chocolate, some "snow" and a little salt and "shake the snow together (for) sometime" in what is supposed to be the first sample of its kind.
Easy Dark Chocolate Fudge with Sea Salt and Lime
September 11, 2013
Know anyone who has a sweet tooth and you want to give them a gift? Look no further! This recipe is unbelievably easy to modify so you can work with it using your favorite flavors.
This has lime and sea salt flakes but you could throw some dried chili flakes in while you’re melting the ingredients for a good kick. Better yet, put some chopped pistachio nuts or some chopped up Dime Bars, whatever tickles your fancy.
This certainly isn't your crumbly fudge, it is totally rich and squidgy. You can leave some without lime and sea salt, and it would be heavenly to add into a mug of hot milk for the ultimate hot chocolate.
‘Nugtella’ Hazelnut-Chocolate-Marijuana Spread
September 6, 2013
Nutella chocolate-hazelnut spread got a swarm of people raving about it. Now, some California fans can have their favorite treat with a tad more kick than the usual. Turns out, a medical marijuana dispensary there came up with a chocolate-hazelnut-marijuana spread known as "Nugtella."
It was invented by Organicares, a San Jose, California-based nonprofit medical marijuana dispensary that zeroes in on marijuana-enhanced treats such as peanut butter brownies, oatmeal cookies, and Rice Krispy treats.
Mini Chocolate Chip Gluten Free Cheesecakes
September 4, 2013
I've said it so many times, I'm crazy about cheesecake. What's great about this recipe is the fact that it lets you alter the flavor of the cheesecake pretty easily. Love lime cheesecake? Substitute the chocolate chips for lime zest and lime juice.
If you're going for classic plain cheesecake, you can remove the chocolate chips and add 1 more tsp of vanilla to the batter. If you swear by blueberry cheesecake, substitute the chocolate chips for 1 cup of blueberries.
