Chocolate Truffles Recipe

What you need:

  • 8 ounces (225g) of 70% dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of softened butter
  • Optional toppings: cocoa powder, powdered sugar, crushed nuts, shredded coconut, etc.

What to do:

Break the dark chocolate into small pieces and put them in a heatproof bowl. Then, in a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Take it off the heat right away.

Pour the hot cream over the chopped dark chocolate and let it sit for a minute so the dark chocolate can melt. Then, stir the mixture gently until the dark chocolate is completely melted and everything looks smooth. Add the softened butter to the chocolate mixture and mix until it's all blended in.

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in the fridge for at least 2 hours, until it becomes firm. Once the chocolate mixture is chilled and firm, get a plate or baking sheet and put a sheet of parchment paper on it.

Take small amounts of the chocolate mixture and roll them into little balls using your hands. If it gets too soft to handle, put it back in the fridge for a few minutes.

Finally, put the finished truffles on the prepared plate or baking sheet and put them in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set. Keep the dark chocolate truffles in a closed container in the fridge until you're ready to enjoy them. You can eat them chilled or let them come to room temperature before serving.

And that’s it! For storage tips, place in an airtight container then refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. But I'm sure it will all be gone before that! 😊

That was easy, huh? Don’t forget to add your favorite toppings! Roll the truffles in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or any other toppings you like. Just press the toppings onto the truffles gently.
