Chocolate-Champagne Trifle with Passion Fruit Curd
February 26, 2014
Passion fruit, chocolate and champagne. Hearing even just one of those ingredients would instantly make you think of anything romantic. They’re just dreamy in their own right.
This recipe may entail a lot of work, considering you have to prepare the cake, the passion fruit curd, and the champagne cream separately. But they’re actually a breeze to make, and they will combine to be the most decadent and glamorous dessert.
You can find passion fruit puree in your favorite supermarket. For the most part, they're in the aisle with other Hispanic ingredients.
Chocolate Makes Everything Better, Even Bacon
June 7, 2013
We can all agree that one of the best things in life and one of the greatest gifts of God is food. It is, in fact, one of our few physiological needs. One can never do without food.
On that note, I personally think the best meal of the day is breakfast. I totally dig breakfast food. I get thrilled at the thought of breakfast food. So many times have I drifted to sleep thinking of what’s for breakfast.
I love waking up to the smell of breakfast food in the air. Why of course, when we say breakfast, bacon is always at the top of my mind. No, scratch that. Bacon always tops my list when it comes to food in general!
It’s no secret that I love chocolate, too. I still haven’t tried chocolate-covered bacon, despite the fact that I wrote about it several times already. It never fails to get my attention, though. And now, this… 23-Karat Gold Chocolate Bacon. Yup, you read right.
Chocolate Mint Brownie Cookies
February 13, 2013
Chocolate and mint seem to go together very well. A lot of sweet treats have been surfacing with this flavor combination. I, for one, swear by this pairing. I just find the combination of rich chocolate and the refreshing mint oh so delightful.
Chocolate and mint have been consumed separately for centuries now. But, who first combined the taste sensations is unknown. Chocolate mint is popular for sweet treats like candy, ice cream, and cake, to name a few. With its continuous popularity, it invaded the liquid world. It is now used in coffee, tea, and even some main dishes. It’s even used in cosmetics! I myself love my chocolate mint bath gel and lip balm.

Chocolate Cranberry Cake
October 19, 2012
Chocolate and fruit pairing has become commonplace, and the reason for it is simply because chocolate and fruits generally go scrumptiously well together. Chocolate and cranberries are a good example.
Some say there are only three common fruits that can trace their roots back to North American soil – the blueberry, the Concord grape, and the cranberry. (I thought that was interesting, but whether this is actually true or not, is irrelevant to this post.) Today we're considering the cranberry.
The cranberry is flexible in its use. These fruits are often served on Thanksgiving and Christmas tables, but could and should be consumed every day! Not only do they taste divine, cranberries are also known for their nutritional benefits such as vitamin C. They are also packed with antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

Here is an honest-to-goodness cream recipe. It involves two ingredients that hold a special place in my heart, chocolate and brandy. The luscious taste of chocolate, vanilla, and brandy all combined is totally head-tilting good.
This rich-flavored chocolate brandy cream recipe will definitely sweep you off your feet. It has the mouth-watering taste of chocolate mixed with a little vanilla essence and, of course, brandy. Then the chocolaty mixture folds into a rich cream and is chilled to perfection.

Bring Home the Chocolate-Covered Bacon!
June 19, 2012
Ed Gotwalt, the owner of Mister Ed's Elephant Museum and Candy Emporium based in Orrtanna, Pennsylvania, recently introduced the phenomenon of meat and chocolate in his store. He started serving chocolate covered bacon about a month ago. Since then he's been keeping his supply up, ordering 25 to 50 pounds nearly every week.
According to Gotwalt, it has been so much of a rage that their supply is having a hard time keeping up with the demand. Their store’s sign says "Bring home the bacon to Dad. It's covered in chocolate." That seems to be pulling people into the store. "Dad always bring home the bacon. Now you can bring home the bacon for Dad, and it's chocolate covered," he said.
