Raaka First Nibs

Last week I started talking about the chocolates I’ve been eating during my time of “safer at home.” I hope you were able to find or make stuffed dates covered in chocolate. Or, if not, had something equally fruity and delicious (chocolate covered strawberries or apricots comes to mind!).

So, what am I eating today? Right now I’m enjoying the last of my First Nibs selection from Raaka.

Chocolate Gift Basket and Tasting

On occasion I get asked to donate my time and expertise to lead a local “Chocolate Tasting” class/event (or a Chocolate and Wine pairing event!) for a fundraiser, silent auction, or raffle. I always donate and, oddly enough, even when someone buys it or receives it, very few winners take me up on it.

My most recent idea was to create a gift basket – or “chocolate kit” if you will - containing all the chocolates that would be needed for a tasting event. I also included a brief but detailed explanation of how I would conduct the tasting using the materials provided.

And it worked!

Raaka Virgin Chocolate – Maple and Nibs

Last week I wrote about my experience with a virgin chocolate bar. For those of you that read my blog, you’re welcome for the double entendre. For those of you who didn’t – get your mind out of the gutter!

To recap, for the previous post I tried a Raaka 82% Bourbon cask aged Tanzanian virgin (as in unroasted) chocolate bar. Absolutely delicious!
