Chocolate Oat Bars Recipe

What you need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or dark chocolate bars
  • 1 ½ cup rolled oats
  • Pinch of salt
  • Choice of toppings

What to do:

Heat ½ cup of milk in a pan or microwave until it’s hot enough but not boiling.

Place the chocolate chips in a medium bowl and pour the hot milk over. Set aside for 30 seconds, then stir to create a chocolatey paste. Set aside.

Preheat oven to 350°F then grease and line the loaf pan. Then combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl then add the vanilla and coconut oil. Stir thoroughly then gradually add the remaining milk just enough to bring the dough together.

Separate 1/3 of the dough, then add the remaining in the loaf pan, making sure it’s tightly packed and flattened out. Then pour over the chocolate paste and spread evenly. Add the remaining 1/3 dough at the top by crumbling it over to create texture.

Place in the oven for 30 minutes then set aside to cool. Once cooled, slice into portions using a knife and serve.

And that’s it! For storage tips, place them in an airtight container and refrigerate or put it in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. But I'm sure it will all be gone before that! 😊

That was easy, huh? Don’t forget to add your favorite toppings! Drizzle with your favorite syrup, add whipped cream, more chocolate chips, more bananas, berries, any type of syrup, cocoa or cinnamon powder, sprinkles, or even ice cream! It’s totally up to you!
