Chocolate Oreo Balls Recipe

What you need:

  • 1 pack Oreo cookies
  • 1 full 8oz cream cheese
  • 1 full dark chocolate bar, or 1 pack semi-sweet chocolate or 12oz candy melts
  • Optional: Your choice of toppings (Sprinkles, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, marshmallows)

What to do:

Crush the Oreo cookies using a food processor, a blender, a mixer, or manually using a Ziplock and a rolling pin. Then add the cream cheese and mix until smooth.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then scoop mixture using a small cookie scoop, or a tablespoon, and use hands to roll them into balls. Then, place the balls into the baking sheet and freeze for 15 minutes.

Note: If the mixture is sticking to your fingers, try coating your hands with cocoa powder or refrigerate the mixture for at least 15 minutes before you shape them.

In a medium bowl. Heat the chopped dark chocolate pieces. You can also use a cup and heat in the microwave, checking every at least 30 seconds, to make sure everything is completely melted.

Cool the melted chocolate for 2 minutes, then remove the chocolate Oreo balls from the freezer and dip them in the melted chocolate. Make sure to completely coat the balls then place them back onto the baking sheet to refrigerate until firm.

And that’s it! For storage tips, place in an airtight container then refrigerate for up to 3 weeks. But I'm sure it will all be gone before that! 😊

That was easy, huh? Don’t forget to add your favorite toppings! Drizzle with melted white or dark chocolate, add sprinkles, powdered sugar, more cocoa powder, chocolate chips, or marshmallows. It’s totally up to you!

For extra oomph, melt some white and milk chocolate to use as dips! This way you will have 3 different types of chocolate Oreo balls.
