Hands Off My Chocolate – Double Dark

Hands Off My Chocolate Double Dark is a 70% bar made in Belgium. It’s tasty and fun. I say fun because it’s molded into a geometric shape of attached circles with the majority of circles boasting the word “Mine” on them. There is only one stamped with “Yours," and it's crossed out!
According to the Hands Off website, www.hands-off.com, here’s the tale of how they got their name...
...Our founders and True Chocolate Lovers Kitty & Thomas ….. discovered that lots of the Chocolate Lovers were sharing their chocolate bars even though they secretly didn’t want to. They actually wanted to enjoy their chocolate all by themselves, but did not always have the guts to admit that.
Kitty & Thomas found out that people find it hard to choose for themselves and say: “Hey, hands off my chocolate, this one is too delicious to share so I am going to enjoy it all by myself.” So, we decided to say it for you. And at that very (and sunny) moment, Hands Off My Chocolate was born.
But What Do I Think?
I think they’re on to something. There are plenty of times I want my chocolate all to myself, but I feel guilty not sharing. Sometimes I get away with eating the whole thing before anyone knows I even have it (no guilt)!
Still, for the most part, I willingly share. I feel a passion to spread the love of good chocolate by sharing. My only hard and fast rule is, “Hands-off the stash of chocolate in my Chocolate Drawer!” I, and I alone, will open and dispense the chocolate that lies within.
Enough talking, let’s get eating. The Double Dark is very rich and very chocolatey. Nothing really stands over and above this tasty, basic chocolate flavor. The fruity notes are well blended into the chocolate and only peak out once in a while.
At the finish, there is bit of vanilla, and the chocolate seems to morph into something creamy even though there are no dairy ingredients. The texture is very smooth and the melt is nice and slow. Slow enough to pause and reflect on the meaning of life.
Ahhhhh. No wonder it’s hands-off!
