Secret Chocolate Reveal – My Confession

For all my chocolate snobbery, I have a secret guilty pleasure that I try to keep to myself...
I try to act nonchalant around the candy dish at work, pretending to resist. And then, once nobody’s looking, I grab a handful. Darn those co-workers who bring in these tantalizing treats calling my name!
What Is This?
Recently a new chocolate candy showed up. This chocolate is sweet, too sweet really, and yet its sweetness is significantly interrupted by nuttiness.
It is crunchy (which satisfies that craving!), and melts slow enough that all aspects of the shell and center mingle nicely in the mouth.
As if the original flavor isn’t enough, there is now another flavor taking over. Hints of coffee take the sweetness down a notch, yet the flavor notes are soft enough not to overwhelm the nuttiness.
I have to admit that I am late to this party. This new edition was released to the masses in March of this year and became a permanent member of the “family” in July. I had my first taste experience of this new comer just a couple weeks ago!
Is It Breakfast Food?
It pairs nicely with coffee, which means breakfast on the way to work opens a whole new world for me.
What’s got me feeling guilty and happy all at the same time? You guessed it... Coffee Nut M&Ms (okay, the picture at the top kind of gave it away).
As long as I am on the topic of Coffee Nut M&Ms, let me tell you a little more about them. They were introduced along with two other flavors - Honey Nut and Chili Nut.
Votes were cast as part of the “Vote For Your Favorite Peanut” campaign to choose the winning flavor. Coffee Nut was the winner.
And I understand why.
Now you know my secret, and I feel a weight lift from my shoulders. I feel free!
