Detroit Largest Box of Chocolates CUO

World Record Box of Chocolate!

How long is the world’s longest box of chocolates?

Well, as of recent history, it’s 313 feet!

In the great American city of Detroit, Michigan, chocolatier Alexandra Clark of Bon Bon Bon took on this adventurous challenge to help support the city at a fundraiser this past Wednesday evening.

Organizers of the event weren't aware of a longest box of chocolates record to be broken, per se. They decided to create the box at precisely 313 feet in length, to mirror Detroit's 313 area code.

Now that the creation has come and gone, they believe its creation was, in fact, world record breaking.

The event, called “World’s Longest Box of Chocolate”, was held this week along the Detroit River in an effort to raise proceeds to support the non-profit, Detroit RiverFront Conservancy.

Tickets were $20, and attendees were able to enjoy an endless supply of chocolate and a lovely evening.

Among the chocolates were special, Detroit-inspired creations such as, “Better Butter Crunch”, made using Better Made potato chips, and “Bumpy Cake”, inspired by the treat from Sanders Confectionery.

Alexandra and her team use classic French technique to create their mouth-watering goodies. For Alexandra, using her creative talents to make specialty chocolates has been a life long dream come true.

Bon Bon Bon features all sorts of specialty bon bons, created with locally sourced, and/or rare ingredients.

Unfortunately for those of us outside the city of Detroit, patrons must stop into the store to purchase chocolates from the store, as they do not do any shipping.

The video below is from Detroit local news source, Fox 2 Detroit. Chocolatier Alexandra Clark talks about the “World’s Longest Box of Chocolate” event and her work as a chocolatier at Bon Bon Bon.

Enjoy! 🙂
