avatarChocolate Martini – A Liquid Chocolate Bar

By Bryn Kirk on September 4, 2010 | Comments (0)

In 1888, the word Martini first appeared in the “New and Improved Illustrated Bartending Manual.”

The Chocolate Martini is a recent new comer, and there are many different recipes to choose from.  I like this simple recipe.

Chocolate Martini

• 2 oz vodka
• 1/2 oz creme de cacao (I used Amsterdam Chocolate Liqueur By Van Gogh)

Fill a martini shaker halfway with ice. Combine the ingredients in the martini shaker.

Put the lid on the shaker and shake until the outside of the shaker is frosted with condensation or your fingers freeze, whichever comes first.

Strain the contents into a martini glass.

Presentation is important with a chocolate martini.  You can coat the rim or inside of a martini glass with chocolate syrup or sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.

Garnishing a chocolate martini is my second favorite thing to do with a martini.  My favorite thing, of course, is drinking it!

Enjoy!
