Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate

Homemade Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate

It’s pumpkin season and as temperatures drop this time of year, it’s definitely time for a pumpkin spice white hot chocolate. Since we’ve shared a couple of recipes for a hot chocolate drink using dark chocolate already, I couldn’t wait to try using white chocolate this time and spice it up to taste just like pumpkin pie!

Get cozy and warm up with this quick and easy recipe that you can whip out every time you need your daily chocolate fix. What’s great about it is you can just add a shot of espresso and make it a latte if you are a coffee lover.

This pumpkin spice white hot chocolate is also the perfect drink as you prepare for Thanksgiving! It’s as simple as making a hot chocolate but switching the dark chocolate into a white one, and adding pumpkin puree and spices. Top it with whipped cream and serve during parties, or while you make Thanksgiving treats with friends and family.

Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate Recipe

What you need:

  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp of pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 tbsp of granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 ounces high-quality white chocolate, chopped
  • pinch salt

What to do:

Over medium heat, combine milk, heavy cream, pumpkin puree, sugar, vanilla, spices, and salt, in a medium saucepan. Do not boil.

Add the white chocolate and stir until completely melted.

Remove from heat and pour into mugs. Top with whipped cream and dash of cinnamon.

And that’s it! Decorate by adding candy canes or pumpkin candies on top when serving during parties. Offer a shot of espresso for adults, and add marshmallows for kids. Either way, kids and adults will love them!

This recipe will make 2-3 servings. I don’t recommend storing this hot chocolate for days since the ingredients might separate in the refrigerator. However, if you really need to, you can still put it in the fridge for up to 2 days, and reheat upon serving.
