Heavenly Organics Almond Chocolate Honey Patties

Heavenly Organics products contain honey made from free-range bees living in India. They harvest all organic honey from wild beehives. The honey is sold in jars as raw white honey, but also in the form of sweet patties covered in 100% cacao chocolate (unsweetened baking chocolate) with a variety of organic flavorings added.
According to their website at heavenlyorganics.com, the honey comes from hives located in such remote parts of India that the honey is naturally free from pesticides and pollutants.
Today’s treat is Almond Chocolate Honey Patties. This one came as bite-sized pieces, three to a package. There are only three ingredients: raw white honey, almond flavor, and unsweetened chocolate.
The honey and almond form a strong, unique flavor and texture. The honey patty is gel-like and velvety smooth and thick in the mouth. It’s very sweet, of course, but the honey flavors really jump out, so much so that the sweetness is more or less background noise.
I can taste an earthiness (not sure if it’s from the honey or the chocolate or both), and the chocolate has a bitterness that complements the honey’s sweetness. At the very end there is a little astringency.
The chocolate coating has a great snap, nice and hard, and slow to melt. The whole experience is very delicious!
