Tcho Bites Toffee & Sea Salt Chocolate Discs

It’s my personal mission to bring chocolate just about everywhere I go. Doesn’t matter if it’s a casual visit or a formal evening, chocolate is a welcomed gift. If it’s shared right away, I have the pleasure of discussing flavor and texture with the recipient(s) as well as learning what they think about it.

In a recent trip over to a friend’s house, I took a bag of Tcho Bites - Toffee and Sea Salt chocolate snacks. They are round bite-sized wafers of toffee coated in organic 53% cacao “dark milk” chocolate.

The chocolate was well received and even inspired the hostess to bring out a bottle of Pinot Noir to go with it.

The chocolate coating by itself was good. Because it was a high cacao milk chocolate coating, the buttery and creamy flavors enhanced the nuttiness of the chocolate. Unfortunately, the chocolate had trouble making it’s nuanced flavors known when it got lost in the strong cooked milk and caramel notes of the crunchy toffee. Still, the coating provided a nice complement, it just couldn’t push through the strong toffee flavors.

We unanimously liked our snack bites, and it paired surprisingly well with the Pinot.

By the way, are you wondering where the name came from and how to pronounce it? According the Tcho website, “the name TCHO is a phonetic spelling for the first syllable of chocolate.  Just say 'cho!'.”

As of writing this, Tcho indicates that is product is sold out on their website. It is available from a couple different sellers on Amazon. Here are a couple links that are working now: 2-flavor bundle (pricey, but includes shipping) and single bag options (reasonable but add shipping).
