Indulgence Chocolatiers Milk Chocolate Sea Salt

Indulgence Chocolatiers offers an amazing menu at their Shop and Chocolate Pairing Bar. They are located in Milwaukee, WI, which many of you know is only a hop, skip and a jump from where I live.

One might think I go there often, but alas, I don’t. I travel hundreds of miles to visit Florida’s World of Chocolate Museum and Café, but I don’t bother driving 20 miles to a Chocolate Pairing Bar!?

Sometimes I don’t understand myself. Instead, I’m even lazier and choose to stop by my neighborhood “shop local” food market to find Indulgence chocolate bars waiting for me. Hey, I bike there in the summer so at least that’s something!

Tasting the Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Bar

I recently picked up an Indulgence Milk Chocolate Sea Salt. At 41%, the chocolatey notes are bold and vivid. The dairy notes are milky, but there are not cooked flavors like toffee or caramel.

The sea salt hits about mid way through and lasts until the end. Sometimes the salt doesn’t dissolve until the chocolate is gone and I’m left crunching on a remaining granule of salt. The salt brings out the intensity of the chocolate, but sometimes it’s a bit too salty.

I actually prefer my chocolate without salt so that I can taste the nuances of the chocolate without the salt causing interference. I love how the chocolatey notes are the predominant flavor and outlast the milky flavors. The chocolate provides a good finish and pleasant aftertaste.

I promise to eventually get down to the Chocolate Pairing Bar and share the experience with you. I already know I’m going for the Red Wine and Truffle flight. Or maybe the Chocolate and Whiskey pairing. Or perhaps the Chocolate and Craft Beer tasting. Here's a sneak peek at the menu.
